Founded in UK
Detectamet was founded in 2003 by our founder & CEO, Sean Smith.
Gained ISO Accreditations
We were accredited with our 3 ISO certifications in 2013 for Environmental, Quality and Health & Safety Management.
Opened in USA
In 2014 we ventured across the pond, setting up our USA facility in Richmond, VA!
Recognised with The Queens Award for our growth in the UK & Overseas
In 2015, we were delighted to be recognised with the Queen's award as a manufacturer & supplier of metal detectable equipment to markets around the world.
Opened our new UK facility
In 2017, we moved our UK facility to Unit 1, Halifax Way - increasing our office and manufacturing space by 5-fold!
Opened in Canada
2018 saw us open a second North-American facility in Ottawa, Ontario.
Opened in Australia
In the Spring of 2020, we opened our Sydney, Australia branch - supplying detectable products to customers throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Opened in Germany
In the Summer of 2021, we opened our latest facility in Korschenbroich, Germany - perfectly positioned for shipping our products throughout Europe.
Investment in PPE manufacturing and injection moulding machines
We're proud of our recent manufacturing investment, bringing injection moulding, PPE & test piece manufacturing in-house for reduced lead times and enhanced quality control.

In the Autumn of 2022, we were delighted to be recognised with a SOFHT Best Company Award win >10 employees for the third time, following our awards in 2013 and 2015.
